How the Imaging Works
Capture Process: When you select TAKE IMAGE, the internal ESP32-S3 captures the photo as a binary JPEG.
Data Transmission: Because raw files are too large for the microcontroller to store, it converts the JPEG into base64 (ASCII text). This allows the image to be sent via JSON to OpenAI, where it is decoded and processed.
Optimized Settings: The higher resolution allows for better automatic adjustments to saturation, sharpness, contrast, white balance, and exposure, resulting in a cleaner final image for the AI to analyze.
Setup and Maintenance
Power Management: Use rechargeable AAA batteries. To ensure the microcontroller is completely powered down and to save battery life, keep one battery unclicked or "popped out" when the device is not in use.
Connectivity: A stable Wi-Fi network or mobile hotspot is required for the device to transmit image data and receive responses.
Operation: The workflow remains the same as the base model—simply hold the device steady and press the capture button to receive a high-quality, AI-assisted response.
